Welcome to ATP Membership: Become a Member Today!
We're delighted to welcome both new and existing members to our new membership platform. As our membership continues to grow, we're excited to be introducing a new membership platform to better support our community.
This new platform is being introduced to enhance the security of your personal details and make managing your membership plans easier by putting you in control. It includes additional features, such as a 'Digital Membership ID Card' that you can add to your Google or Apple Wallet, and gives you full management over your personal information, including staying informed about upcoming meeting dates, important updates, and other key details. You can also update your contact information or add and cancel membership plans as you need to.
When creating your account profile, members will be asked to set their own password, which you can monitor and manage. You also have the option to enable 'two-factor authentication' for added security.
- Please note that this password is separate from the password used to access the main ATP website pages, known as 'native' pages.
- The ATP website password is also the one used as a discount 'promo' code to receive the 25% membership discount in the ATP online shop, so each member will have two different passwords.
- The ATP website password (for 'native' pages) is updated annually and is emailed to all members when it changes; make sure you’re subscribed to our email communications to receive it! It is also shared as a featured post in our members-only Facebook group, at the footer of our Emails and reminded in each newsletter.
- This password is for member use only; if it is shared or compromised, it will need to be updated for all members.
New Members:
Welcome to our membership. We’re delighted to welcome you to our ATP community. Becoming a member connects you with a network of professionals who share a commitment to supporting families and improving outcomes in practice. As part of the community, you’ll gain access to member benefits, resources, and opportunities designed to support your professional development and collaboration with others in the field.
To join, simply click the button below and follow the instructions to create your profile and complete your membership registration. Once you have completed the application for membership process, the membership admin team will need to 'approve' membership prior to you accessing the features of the platform. If you have any questions during the process, please don’t hesitate to get in touch; we’re here to help and look forward to welcoming you.
Existing Members:
Your membership plan will automatically be transitioned to the new platform.
You need to update your payment details and confirm agreement to the membership terms by
JUNE 16th 2026.
To do this:
- Click onto 'Member Profile Login' in the menu bar
- Log in using your Email address that is registered with ATP currently
- The second tab along is called 'payment details', click onto it
- Sign in using your Email address and click the green 'update payment method' button
- (If this is your first visit to the platform, this is when you will be asked to create your profile password too)
5. Complete your card payment details,
6. Then click the blue button: 'Save'.
- Payment is not taken until your existing plan expires so this should be a smooth transition
Once you have access to your profile, please complete any outstanding fields, correct any errors or typos, and agree to the waivers.
All mandatory fields must be completed to initiate your 'active' profile status.
**When updating your details a blue “Renew” button may appear as an option— DO NOT click “Renew”, as this will trigger a manual payment which incurrs charges. You are not renewing your membership; it is for a continuation from your previous GoCardless membership. Use the green 'Update details' button as per the guidance provided.
Please make sure you:
- Do not click the blue “Renew” button
- Confirm the waiver for each individual plan (click 'Edit membership info' click the waivers then the green 'Update membership information')
- Tick all waivers if you have multiple plans — not just the one shown at the top.
Any updates to your directory entry(s) will still need an AMENDMENT FORM to be completed before the changes can be approved, following the exisying process.
When your current subscription is approaching its expiry date, you will receive an Email directly from 'Join-It' informing you of your upcoming payment, but if your card is already on file you will need to do nothing more. If you have not followed the steps above your payment details will not be on file, your subscription for membership and any directory entries will cease to be active.
Important: Please
do not cancel your current GoCardless payment before your renewal is processed through Join-It.
Membership fees paid through GoCardless cover your membership for one year in advance. Cancelling your GoCardless payment before the renewal date will result in your current membership ending immediately.
- All active listings will remain visible and uninterrupted during the transition, provided your membership remains current and fully paid.
During this transition period, our current system will remain active behind the scenes, so that existing members continue to receive the benefits they have already paid for until their plan reaches its expiry date.
- Original membership subscriptions with GoCardless will no longer be available to new members.
- Original GoCardless subscriptions cannot be continued. All payments will now be managed through 'Join-it' which uses Stripe card payments. If you have not submitted your payment details then your membership and any directory listing entries will no longer be active.
Membership costs and membership types have not changed, it is the payment method and process only.
Membership 'Plans'
There are currently 5 membership plan types available and an additional (optional) 3 add-on plans for those who have a directory listing entry.
Currently, multiple 'plans' are to be purchased separately but we are assured that multiple plans on one application is on the software's roadmap.
Your member profile and plans can be managed in your profile and you have control of your profile to make adjustments to your plan or update your contact details.
- Your membership plan(s) once selected, are on an annual auto-subscription.
To add an additional membership plan to your profile (for Directory listing entries):
Please log-in to your profile:
- In the top right hand corner where your name is, click onto the drop-down menu and select 'Account settings'.
- Click onto the green button 'Go to membership' and then scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Click onto the 'house' button that says 'main page' and
- Then select the additional plan that you require and complete the registration process with your personal details.

Directory Entries
Please note that the ‘Join-it’ platform is used solely to manage the financial aspect of directory entries. It does not affect the approval process.
There are no changes to how directory entries or new listings are reviewed—these will continue to follow the current ATP approval process, with an amendment form required where applicable (AMENDMENT FORM).
The ‘Join-it’ process does not require you to re-evidence your existing directory entries; it is simply used to handle payment alongside your membership plan.
All new listing entries should be applied for using the listing application form (LISTINGS APPLICATION FORM) and is subject to approval. Please refer to the Listings policy as found on the 'CONSTITUTION & POLICIES' page, or in the footer of our website.
If you have more than one directory entry, the primary entry is either a 'Home visit' plan or a 'Primary Clinic' plan for £20.00. Additional clinic entries can be purchased for £5.00 per clinic using the additional plan option. For multiple clinics please adjust the 'quantity' of clinics prior to your purchase and list all locations in the corresponding field. You can not have a £5.00 additional clinic in the absence of a £20.00 primary clinic OR Home visiting directory entry.

Proof of Membership

Digital ID Cards
A digital ID card on the Join-it platform provides members with a convenient and secure way to verify their membership. Each member can access one digital ID per plan with the 'primary plan' recommended for use if you need to use it as ID when engaging with families.
Members can download their card(s) directly from their profile and store them on their device or in a Google Wallet or Apple Wallet for easy access. The photo uploaded to your account profile is the same one that appears on your digital ID, ensuring consistency and recognition whenever your membership needs to be shown, so whilst logos and avatars can be used is not recommended as professional identification.
To access your digital ID card:
Please log-in to your profile (this is best done from your mobile device):
1) In the top right hand corner where your name is, click onto the drop-down menu and select 'Account settings'.
2) Click onto the green button 'Go to membership' and then scroll to the bottom of the page.
3) Click onto 'View Membership Card' and then 'Send Card' and this will be sent to your Email address linked to your profile. The version sent to your Email address may not include the QR code or your photo as this varies on your server provider, but once you follow stage 4 it should appear.
4) Follow the instructions in the Email to upload into your Google or Apple wallet.
Primary Membership Plans
FULL MEMBERSHIP
Full membership of the Association of Tongue-tie Practitioners (ATP) is open to anyone who is a current tongue-tie practitioner (surgical release provider), regulated by a governing body ie. Registered health professional with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), General Medical Council (GMC), General Dental Council (GDC) or other not specifically listed, and registered with the CQC or equivalent if applicable. It is for both independent and NHS release providers.
Each member subscribed to this plan has full voting rights at ATP meetings to vote on policies, constitutional changes, and organisational matters that aim to benefit the membership as a whole.
AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP
Affiliate membership of the Association of Tongue-tie Practitioners (ATP) is open to health professionals (such as nurses, midwives, health visitors, doctors, dentists, osteopaths, and speech and language therapists), as well as breastfeeding supporters (including peer supporters, counsellors, and lactation consultants). It is also open to international applicants and members of the public with an interest in supporting parents of babies with a tongue-tie restriction. Affiliate members can benefit from shared professional knowledge and experience; whilst they do not hold voting rights, their contributions, ideas, and suggestions are highly valued in helping to shape and progress the charity.
HONORARY MEMBERSHIP
Our honorary members bring extensive experience in managing tongue-ties and provide the association with expert advice and support as needed. We sincerely thank them for their ongoing contributions.
There are three types of honorary membership plans—Full, Affiliate, and Retired—each corresponding to the member’s current clinical practice status.
Honorary membership is awarded in recognition of dedication and commitment to the organisation, supporting its growth, raising awareness, and enhancing its functionality for both members and the public.
Each 'full honorary member' retains full voting rights at ATP meetings, enabling them to support organisational changes made for the collective benefit of the organisation and its members.
Honorary membership is by award only. Applications for an honorary membership plan from individuals who have not been formally selected will be declined.
STUDENT AND RETIRED MEMBERSHIPS
We also offer membership for anyone who is a full-time healthcare student, or retired from a previous tongue-tie practitioner role at a discounted rate! The ATP welcome you to join our community!
Please refer to our ATP constitution for clarification on application acceptance criteria and voting rights:
STUDENT MEMBERS: those who are full time allied health professional students with an interest in tongue-tie.
RETIRED MEMBERS: those who have ceased performing tongue-tie division but would like to stay involved and updated.
